Role Overview
We are looking for a Cloud Security Engineer (Azure). In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls across our Azure cloud environment. You'll work closely with infrastructure, DevOps, and compliance teams to ensure our cloud workloads are secure, resilient, and aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, implement, and manage security controls across Azure environments, including identity, network, and data protection.
- Configure and maintain Azure security tools such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Sentinel, Azure Policy, and Key Vault.
- Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and threat modeling for cloud infrastructure and applications
- Monitor cloud environments for security incidents, investigate alerts, and lead response and remediation efforts.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform, Bicep).
- Manage identity and access controls using Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), including RBAC, conditional access, and privileged identity management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant security frameworks and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, NIST).
- Develop and maintain security documentation, runbooks, and incident response procedures.
- Provide guidance and training to engineering teams on secure cloud architecture and best practices.
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of experience in cloud security, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
- Solid understanding of Azure security services (Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault, Azure Policy, Azure Firewall, NSGs).
- Experience with identity and access management, including Azure AD/Entra ID, RBAC, and conditional access policies.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Benchmarks, SOC 2).
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep) and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate and respond to security incidents.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain security risks and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
