Role Overview

We are looking for a Middleware Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining middleware solutions that connect applications, services, and systems. You will work closely with backend, frontend, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless, efficient, and secure communication across the platform.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, develop, and manage middleware components, APIs, and integration flows using Apache Camel and related integration frameworks.
  • Work with integration frameworks and messaging systems (e.g., Apache Camel, Kafka, RabbitMQ, MuleSoft, WSO2).
  • Collaborate with development and architecture teams to define and implement enterprise integration solutions, leveraging Camel routes and components where applicable.
  • Optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of integration layers built on Apache Camel.
  • Identify and resolve issues in messaging systems, API gateways, and service orchestration, including Camel-based routing logic.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including Camel route specifications.
  • Stay up to date with emerging middleware technologies and integration best practices, including the Apache Camel ecosystem.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of experience as a Middleware Engineer, Integration Engineer, or in a similar role, ideally with hands-on Apache Camel experience.
  • Strong knowledge of message brokers or integration platforms (Apache Camel, Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, WSO2, MuleSoft, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of integration patterns (REST, SOAP, event-driven architecture, pub/sub, microservices) — familiarity with Camel's Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIPs) is a strong plus.
  • Experience with API design, API gateways, and authentication standards (OAuth2, JWT).
  • Proficiency in languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Python for building integration components, including experience writing Camel routes (Java DSL or XML).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
